Final Draft – Comprehensive Land Use Plan

The Town of Deerfield website now contains the final draft of the Town of Deerfield Comprehensive Land Use Plan. This final draft includes a proposed policy for the transfer of development rights. Residents and interested parties can find the proposed plan under the notices and posting category along with the timeline of public meetings to be held before final adoption. A public open house will be held on February 11, 2020 from 5-7 p.m. at the Deerfield Community Center where the planners, Vandewalle & Associates, will be available to answer any questions. The Town Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on March 2, 2020 at 6 p.m. at the Deerfield Community Center for reviewing purposes and the Town Board will hold a public hearing at the regular monthly meeting at the Deerfield Community Center at 7 p.m., March 9, 2020 for reviewing purposes before final adoption. All interested residents and concerned parties are encouraged to attend.

Comprehensive Land Use Plan Update

The Town of Deerfield has now received the third draft of the proposed Town of Deerfield Comprehensive Land Use Plan. The township is also considering a Transfer of Development Rights (Building Rights) policy that will be separate from the overall land use policy. For review of the proposed policy updates please go to the Notices and Postings section of the town’s website to review said policies. The town board and town planning commission will be holding a joint meeting in mid February to discuss these policies. Final adoption will probably take place in late March or April.
